Hi,

I have made a custom panel.cfg file and this integrates the CIVA INS
gauge for LNAV. It replaces the 'GPS' since you don't need it anymore ;)

Hi Pelusa,

that was the sort of gauge and flight management sytem I searched for a couple of years. Although I must say that I had to made my own alterations (I invented an "lower center" because I wished to got the use of the adeu-gauges and the NAV2 - but don't tell Matthias :roll

Yesterday I made my first flight from EDDN to EGLL. And wow! Just a must have in this panel.

if you're referring to the 'lower-center' I have some problems with the nightly illumination. When solved I'd be happy to post some shots.

@Palani,

About the illumination:

I think the INS use the standard night illumination. For this you need to switch on the gauge lights in the lower right part of the overhead panel (the small white rotation knob). This switches on the standard illumination when you have electrical power.

Hi All,

Here are a few shots of my installation in the 146 incorporated into the pedestal panel.







I've only used a single CDU setup, replacing one of the audio panels in the pedestal with the CDU, the MSU and ADEU going into the remaining vacant slots. The NavModeSingle switch and DME Updating Flags are on the Main Panel between the Lift Spoiler and EGPWS indicators, this is to get over a problem with the panel floodlights.

It is possible to write custom gauges for these using the included SDK so that they blend in better with the panel, only I'm not so hot with C++.

Hi Matthias and Peter,

it seems I was mistaken. The nightview of my lower center is something I could live with. I rather had a kind of spotlight on it (well, something's got to reflect off the mainpanel, has'nt it?) because the CDU, ADEU, MSU is quite dark until powered. But that is only a secondary problem.
The main thing is the illumination on the main panel. And in addition to that the gauges for nav selection and dme-upload simply don't fit into the look and feel of the panel. The dme-update is too bulky in my opinion and the nav select is plain 2D.



So my plans goes into 'reconstruct' at least the nav selector. Get rid of those flip-switches and home in for those plastic rocker. And to do this on a more 3D like base plate.

At a moments thought: Has the BAe some kind of INS, Flight management system or whatever? And where would I find it in a real BAe panel?
Maybe it need a complete new approach (or should I call it go around?!?) to fit the INS in.

Hi Palani,

if you do a search on http://www.jetphotos.net/

look for 146 cockpit photos.

You will find that the GNS (equivalent of an FMS at the time) is situated in the pedestal, in the same place that Matthias has put the Audio Panel. The Audio Panels appear to be to the left of the Captain's seat and to the right of the FO's.

Note also that some cockpits have one CDU and others have two, so a single setup is prototypical.

This is why I did my setup as a single and put the CDU in place of one of the Audio Panels.

Hi Adrian,
I was kinda occupied the last few days so that I answer a little late. I was thinking about having just one CDU in the panel but then found the idea of two of them quite charming. Enventually one has got something to do while flying when no controller is available.
So I got to program myself some gauges which allow me to switch the INS from the main panel and still fit into it.
Once I finished with the artwork I shall show some photos around.

So, there's the annunciatorpanel I made.

Obviously there could be not all of the lamps be lighted but it is just out of Photoshop.
I started with the DME/NAV-updateflags and then throw in the bat-light, alarm-light just for good measure.
Finally I did the annunciator if the MDU-knob is on NAV (But that was only I most constantly forget that and be flooded with failure messages)
