#1 146 Airfiles von Mach_7 05.11.2009 18:12

Hello all;

Just wondering if there is anything planned to update the 146/rj airfiles. The reason I ask is that I am building a 146 sim, and would like to utilize Jon Murchinson's airfiles into an exsisting airframe.

What would it take to 'update' these files in order to get a more 'realistic' flight profile for the 146 ?.

I have 10,000 hours on type, and have an issue with the approach pitch attitude. The 146 has no leading edge devices and therefore approaches with a 'nose down' attitude as opposed to a pitch up attitude . With full flap at Vref+5 an attitude .of 4 degrees nose down is not uncommon.

This may be impossible to do, but I am willing to supply the data if someone is willing to modify the airfiles.

Hi Jim,

Sorry for the delayed answer. Since stopping the BAe Panel Project I'm not very often here.

No, there are currently no plannings to continue the work. The only thing I'm willing to do is to convert the FDE files of the existing panel for a completely new aircraft model. But this is just a conversion and not a real FDE editing.

First you need a program to edit *.air files. The aircraft.cfg could be modified with a normal ASCII text editor. Then you need to understand the entry of the aircraft.cfg and airfile. This is not easy. The MS SDK gives some examples but you need the help of a better description or of someone who has experience.

Well, you are here in the panel department :-) I think it's better to offer your help an aircraft designer. When you are using Jon Murchison's BAe 146 I recommend to post in it in the HJG forum (http://www.simviation.com/hjg/main.htm). As far as I know there are many people who have experience in editing airfiles, so your help will be much appreciated there.

I'm sorry that I have no better news.

Best Regards
Matthias
