Hi Jim,
Sorry for the delayed answer. Since stopping the BAe Panel Project I'm not very often here.
>Just wondering if there is anything planned to update the 146/rj airfiles.
No, there are currently no plannings to continue the work. The only thing I'm willing to do is to convert the FDE files of the existing panel for a completely new aircraft model. But this is just a conversion and not a real FDE editing.
>What would it take to 'update' these files in order to get a more 'realistic' flight profile for the 146 ?.
First you need a program to edit *.air files. The aircraft.cfg could be modified with a normal ASCII text editor. Then you need to understand the entry of the aircraft.cfg and airfile. This is not easy. The MS SDK gives some examples but you need the help of a better description or of someone who has experience.
>This may be impossible to do, but I am willing to supply the data if someone is willing to modify the airfiles.
Well, you are here in the panel department :-) I think it's better to offer your help an aircraft designer. When you are using Jon Murchison's BAe 146 I recommend to post in it in the HJG forum (
http://www.simviation.com/hjg/main.htm). As far as I know there are many people who have experience in editing airfiles, so your help will be much appreciated there.
I'm sorry that I have no better news.
Best Regards
Matthias
