The BAe Panel Project stops making panels now. Please see the main site "About" for more informations and for the reasons.
The website, all downloads and the support forum stays online for an indefinite time. Unfortunately I could not give support in the forum very often because of the missing time, but Adrian and Peter are forum administrators of the BAe Panel Project forum and have a lot of experience with my panels and both are willing to help you if you have problems. Also there are a lot of forum members who have experience with the real aircraft in case you have particular questions. Of course each forum member is welcome to help with every question if he can.
It was a lot of fun working with you, talking about the Flightsimulator and get in private contact with some of you. I wll miss this.

Hi All,
Because of several private reasons it's ot possible for me to visit the forum and answer your questions in time. The same to your mails which are still unanswered. I'm very sorry about this.

Unfortunately I couln't share a panel.cfg for the ISG FMS at the moment because I just have a test verson installed. Nevertheless Lloyd (user Lloydnco) offered here in the forum last month to share his panel.cfg for the ISG FMS. Just search for his nickname in the list of members and contact him via PM. I'm sure he could help you.
About the EHSI and ND. Yes, you could use the ISG FMS system without installing the EHSI and/or ND.
Thank you very much for your posting and using my panel.
About your question:
Are you sure that your FS is really crashed after selecting the aircraft? The panel needs a very long time to load. Depending on your system it could take between 2 minutes (fast systems) and 8 minutes (very slow systems) until everything is loaded. A lot of flightsimmers think that their FS is crashed and remove the program with the task manager.
Please let me know when this was not the reason and your FS is really crashed (program is completely closed and your back on the desktop).

Hi All,
It has been ten years now since I've uploaded my first Flightsimulator panel, the Avro ARJ panel version 1.0, to Flightsim.com. Because of this 10th anniversary, I've opened a new site for the BAe Panel Project which contains screenshots of a lot of the panels I did in the last years. You will also find names of FS designers which were important for my work. I'm sure some of you will remember those FS enthusiasts.
Please hit the reload button if you couldn't find the new link on the left side.

"I think I ask them to modifly the FSX original XML file to become J41 panel guages, do you think it is good idea?"
You could use the standard XML gauges as a base for the own programmed gauges. This makes the work much faster and gives you a lot of experience in programming gauges.
"1) There's no security in XML, everyone else can easily see your gauge code, and can copy it."
This is correct. There's no way to lock a XML gauge that it could not be altered or copied from others.
"2) There's nothing you can do in XML that can't also be done in C++. Where there are many things you can do in C++ not possible in XML.
There are just two things you could not do with XML gauges. The first thing is to implement sounds into gauges without using a C gauge. The second thing is that you could not write to ini files or read from ini files. This could be important when you want to program a FMS.
"3) C++ code because its compiled will generally be faster, whereas XML is processed by an interpreter at run-time which is a little slower. Though probably not so much slower most would notice, unless you got real complicated and detailed."
With a good and fast fast XML code you will not find any difference to C gauges regarding the speed.
"Engine power computer output with different temperature,"
Yes, this is not easy to do. However FSX offers the way to control N1 with thrust. This makes it a bit easier.
"Auto Speed ISA"
It's not complicate but you need very much testflights and a lot of gauge reworks until you find the correct settings in the code. Take care about the aircraft weight which has a big effect on the necessary pitch.
"Intergrated RPM with Mixture Lever"
I think this is really the most complicated part. In three years I didn't find a way to realize it. Also I don't find a free- or payware aircraft which simulates a realistic single shaft TP engine.
"Warning_Panel"
This is no problem. A warning panel just scans given variables and so it's easy to do.
Thank you very much for your compliment. I'm very happy that you like the panel.
About the yaw damper light: There is an important changing from version 3 to version 4. In version 3 the yaw damper caution light goes out as soon as the yaw damper master switch in the overhead panel was switched on. Now with version 4 the autopilot control unit in the pedestal panel is realized. The yaw damper caution light belongs now not only to the master switch in the OH panel but also to the yaw damper switch in the AP control unit. Both must be switched on and available.
Thank you very much for this hint. I think it could also happen in FS9. When the aircraft has no virtual cockpit or inside views, the views are not that important. Nobody will recognize if they are really placed correctly or not. Now, with a cockpit inside view, you recognize it when moving the head inside the cockpit. I think it's not a big problem and could be solved easily in further versions of the aircraft.
Well, I don't think that the panel is the reason for the problem. I had this panel installed for a long time and no problem with the views. Also nobody else has ever posted this problem. I highly recommend to install it again but take care to use a zip file which was made by me. The file you're talking about is not my original file. Nevertheless you still could find my old version 2 on Avsim or Flightsim.com.
About the cold and dark fix: No, there is no fix to start with running engines. This is just possible with the newer versions. Version 2 is now 6 years old. Too old to make a further update.
What you wrote could happen when the views are not correctly placed in the cockpit. Maybe it helps when you try to move the views a bit (forward or back).
Thank you very much for your compliment. I'm very happy that you like the panel.
I'm currently working on the new ARJ panel. It will get all the new things of the actual BAe 146 panel (v 4.0) and of course a new pedestal panel. Unfortunately I could not say when this new version is ready, but I think it will come within the next few months.
The panel you are talking about is version 2.0 and very very old. I highly recommend to install a newer version. When you are still using FS2002 please install version 3.0. When you are using FS2004 please install version 4.0. Both could be found here on this website.
About your problem: Unfortunately I couldn't help you here because this problem belongs to the flightdynamic files of the aircraft and has nothing to do with the panel. I can change some minor things in the flightdynamics but to change the thing you wrote you need more experience than I have.
sotiris>Note that when I had the known problem (eng 2,3 not starting-control+shift+F4) sotiris>EGT indicators moved in a more real way than now.
This was just coincidence. When pressing ctrl-shift+F4 you just set the mixture valve of engine 2 and 3 to full rich (1 and 4 is set by my panel automatically). The flightsimulator uses the fuel mixture parameter also as a fuel switch for jet engines. When using the mixture parameter in jets, it just has the two positions open and close. Mixture close is fuel valve close and everything else is fuel valve open. That's why it has nothing to do with the problem you wrote.
I hope that there is a good FDE designer one day who has enough experience and who will take care about the BAe 146 / ARJ.
Sorry, but I couldn't find your posting in the HJG forum.
About your question:
Jon's new model is already prepared for his upcoming FSX model. This new version will have a complete virtual cockpit and 3D inside views. I didn't saw that he has already started in his FS9 model when I prepared my panel for his model. The only way to solve those double views is to delete my 2D inside views. For this please open the panel.cfg and delete the following lines there: ..............
Fixed Window30=Forward Right Fixed Window31=Right Fixed Window32=Rear Right Fixed Window33=Rear Fixed Window34=Rear Left Fixed Window35=Left Fixed Window36=Forward Left Fixed Window37=Up ...................
Thank you very much for the info about the cockpit inside views. This helps me and saves a lot of time to bring those views to work. About the VC: Jon and Paul are currently working on their new models which both includes virtual cockpits. Seems that we get complete models this year.

Hi All,
Just a short note to inform you about my plannings for 2008:
BAe 146 panel
The BAe 146 panel will get its own FSX version. Three weeks ago I bought FSX for my new computer and in the meantime I had time enough to check the new panel version (4.0) with the new sim. Unfortunately the new BAe 146 panel has more problems in FSX than I thought. I've start a topic in the BAe 146 panel forum today ("FSX BAe 146 panel issues") where I've listed all problems I found. Please use this posting in the BAe 146 forum to add your findings with FSX when they are not listed there. I will do my best to eliminate all known problems with FSX and to make a bug free FSX version.
Avro ARJ panel
This year I'm going to realize the new Avro ARJ panel (version 5.0). This panel will get all new features of the current BAe 146 panel and a small surprise (won't tell too much at the moment ). Later on the ARJ panel will also get it's FSX update. However I'm not sure if the ARJ FSX version will be ready in 2008.
Jetstream 31 panel
Yes, version 3..0 will come and I'm sure it will come this year. Almost all flightsimmers have voted for the new version without a realistic engine control (TP single shaft engine control) in the still existing J31 panel poll. This allows me now to continue with the panel without having the airfile engine problems. This makes a lot of things much easier and arise the chance to finish it in a short time.
No further news for the other panels yet but this could change later this year.
