Peter, I'm not sure if it is really the harddisc. As you have some experience, I explain what happens:
Since six months it hapens that the computer didn't recognize my keyboard when starting. When I start the computer a second time, the keyboard works as it should. So for the following two or three monhs I always had to start the computer twice to let it recognize the keyboard. Two or three monhs ago the things worsen. When I switch on the computer with the main switch (back of the computer) and then press the start button on the front, absolutely nothing happens for more than 5 - 10 minutes (you could switch it on and off several times but nothing happens). After about 5 to 10 minutes the computer starts. Sometimes recognizing the keyboard, sometimes not. When he keyboard is not recognized, I shut it down from the first blue Windows XP welcome window (where you select which user wants to start Windows) and start it again. This works also for a while, or better until last Friday. Last Friday it happens that the computer waits about 10 minutes before it starts. It loads until the blue welcome XP window comes. I saw that the keyboard was not loaded and want to shut down the computer again for a second restart. Unfortunately now also the mouse was not working, so the only thing I could do without keyboard and mouse was to switch off the computer with the main switch. From this time the computer always starts until the window is shown where he asks me if I wan to start windows in the normal mode or in the safety mode. No matter what I select, the computer shuts down and starts again to this window.
The first thing I did then, was to start Windows XP from the CD, but this failed. Then I've started the computer with a special CD. This CD starts everything only from the CD drive without using anything from harddisc. It contents a windows commander and several tools which could be used for checking files on the harddisc, checking the installed windows and checking the hardware. But always when I select c:\ the win commander says that there no c: drive exists. Then I start the hardware checker from this CD and this program told me that it couldn't recognize any volume on this drive. That's why I thought it is a harddisc problem.
Maybe this info helps you a bit and you have an idea of what it could be.
When it is really a harddisc crash, I don't think that I pay the money for restoring the datas because I saw in a television report that this is not very cheap.
Thank you very much for this tip. In the meanme I found out that a lot of folders ARE write protected. Even if I'm admin, I have no rights to change this. Very strange thing. I will try your tip and hpe it works. However when I think back to my last new computer, there were also many problems which seems could not be solved in the beginning. In the end its just a question of time. I'm sure I bring this small black devil to run
About my harddisc problem: I will write something about it in the other (News) topic.

Hi All,
Okay, since Friday I have a new computer now. Not the one I was looking for but, because of my HD crash, I need one faster and had to make a compromise. But now, two days after I bought it, I have the first problems with MS Vista (Home Edition). I have installed the Flightsimulator today and now I want to install the first aircraft (a BAe 146 of course ), but it doesn't work. I could not change and save a file. The computer says I don't have the rights to save the file (mostly cfg files) . But it's the same with other programs. It's wonderful to start programs and to look at them but it would be more wonderful if I could also work with them and save anything. BTW: I'm the only user of the computer and I have those so called administator rights. What must I do that I could save a file (the files and folders are not save protected)? Hope anyone here has experience with Vista and could help me

Hi All,
Since this week I have massive problems with my old computer and today I have the worst case scenario, because it seems that I have a hard disc crash. This sounds not really spectacular but I have no backup and I know very well that it was on my own risk.
For the BAe project this means that everything is gone. All photos, manuals and descriptions I got by mail, documents and, and this is really bad, all of my PSP paintings. This means exactly that when I decide to continue, I have to paint all graphics (not the *.bmp bitmaps) completely new which is really a lot of work.
This morning I bought now a new computer. I have an internet connection with it (please don't ask me why, because I do not know), but I don't have any access to my mails. I don't know why but I always get error messages when trying to download the mails. I think this could be solved as soon as I have a little experience with Vista, however I do not know when.
There are some computer specialists here which offers to repair defect computers. I wll bring my old computer to one of them and hope that he could do anything.
Please do not try to contact me by mail, because I don't get any mail at the moment.

Thank you very much for your offer. I'm very happy about it. The last version of the J31 panel has a lot of differences to the real J31. This because of the fact that it was made just with photos of the J31 cockpit and manuals of several other turboprop aircraft. In the meantime I have a J31 manual here, so the next version will completely base on the real manual. Of course your help would be great. For creating and for testing the new version of course.
Nevertheless I could not realize a realistic engine control yet. Everything else will work like in the real J31 (at least that's my goa) but not the engine control. I made a lot of tests and I've tried a lot of things but unfortunately without success. At the moment it seems that the structure of the Flightsimulator won't allow to rebuilt a single shaft TP engine.
Within the next weeks I will start a poll here in the forum about the next version of the J31 panel. When most Flightsimmers say that they accept a new version also without the real engine control, I will continue with version 3 of the J31 panel. Otherwise I have to make further tests to solve this engine thing.
Sorry for this delayed answer to your message. Because of the HJG release last week and several other things it was very hectical and I had no chance to post here sooner.
Thank you very much for the hint with the wrong weight. That's absolutely correct and I will change this with the next version.
Seems that you have no hydraullic pressure. Gear, Brakes, Flaps, Spoilers and some other things requires hydraullic pressure. For this you must start engine 2 and 3 (the hydraullic pumps are placed on the inner engines) and switch on the hydraullic pumps in the hydraullic area of the overhead panel. The hydraullic panel is placed in the upper left side of the OH panel.
Unfortunately I could not really help because I still don't have FSX. Nevertheless a small comment which may help here:
When the Attitude indicator just works when engine 1 or/and 4 is on, it looks like the instrument requires electrical power from the standard FS elec bus (the standard electrical busses of the Flightsimulator will be switched on with engine 1 or 4 even if I just use it for the GPS). Maybe the system variables have changed in FSX: For example:
attitude_indicator.0=1
in the aircraft.cfg means that the ADI is vacuum driven (necessary in my model).
attitude_indicator.0=2
Means electrical driven.
Could it be that the addresses 1 and 2 have changed?
You could use the version you already have but you should not replace the flightdynamics of the HJG model with those of my older panel. The HJG FDEs are already adapted for my panel and work with the version from HJG and the version I've already uploaded some weeks ago..
Nevertheless there's a small difference which may convince you to use the new panel from HJG: I've reworked the autopilot once again for a better IAS hold with different aircraft weights. I've just checked the reworked AP with Jon's new aircraft, so I currently do not know if this is also necessary for the other models. Nevertheless with the HJG model you could see a difference, especially when you fly with an almost empty aircraft.
Thank you very much for your report and compliment. I'm very happy that you like it. I did not made a lot of changes for the new panel, however a smal changing was done to the autopilot for a better IAS hold. I will upload this update also for my current version here on my website some later.
Not sure, but I think you just forgot to switch on the Avionic Master switches in the OH panel. They are placed on the upper left side beside the Autopilot and Yaw damper master switch.
Unfortunarely I don't know if the older FDEs work with Jon's new model, because I haven't checked it yet. Nevertheless I will test it in the next days. When necessary, I will create an update for the ARJ panel of corse.
Thank you very much for the info. I've already send out some news and will update my aircraft listing within the next days. Like in the past, your paintings look amazing
No, there are not too many differences to the analog and digital model. The EFIS version is quite a bit a motley version using something from here and there.
Great! I saw some pictures of your repaints on a german website some days ago. You should reallly offer ypur paintings to the public. They look beautiful.

Hi All,
Since this month there's a partnership between the Historic Jetliners Group (HJG) and the BAe Panel Project regarding Jon Murchison's completely new BAe 146 aircraft. As opposed to the first rumours, Jon also made a new FS9 model, which will be offered exclusively from the Historic Jetliners Group. On the HJG site, you will find more information about the project and, when everything is ready, you will find a special version of my panel for this project there. Please visit http://www.simviation.com/hjg/.
Today I've also started with the new BAe 146 EFIS website. The EFIS panel was a special version of the old analog BAe 146 panel. It was an update for those companies who don't want to change their old 146 with the newer RJ but would ike to have a more digital cockpit. You will some more information about the new panel and a first screenshot of it on the new BAe 146 EFIS website. Please hit the reload button of your browser in the left frame to see the new EFIS website link.
Some of you may ask what happened to the turboprop panels Jetstream 31 and Jetstream 41. Very often I wrote that I have problems realizing a realistic control of the single shaft engine. I've tried a lot of things but without success. At the moment I'm planning to carry on with the J31 / J41 and to realize everything close to the real J31 (manual) except a realistic engine control. I will start a poll about this in my forum within the next weeks. Of course I'll keep you informed about the poll and the result.
And now I would like to introduce you to Cindy Kyrkjeboe. Since October Cindy and me started a collaboration for the Avro ARJ and BAe 146 panel. She made a really interesting and very good rework of those panels and had some very good ideas for them. I don't want to betray too much now, but I'm sure that a lot of flightsimmers acclaim her big updates. Of course I'll keep you informed here too and as soon as I could upload some screenshots of our work I will do so.
